Alumnae Camp: The More We Get Together 08

Oh yeah Alumnae camp was so fun! You people who did not go don't know what you missed!
Organisers: Hui ling jiejie(VP of Alumnae), Hui lian jiejie, Yun qing jiejie(P of Alumnae)
Friday was Night Trail, which was not scary at all. Slept at 12+am.
Saturday, we had a talk by another jiejie who is a very successful dentist, which was very interesting. Later, Groups 1 2 and 3 did some cooking, which is Soon Kueh, Dumplings and award-winning sandwich respectively. I was in Group 1, and Hui ling jiejie's mum --- Lee mama taught us to put starch powder on our hands and take some soon kueh flour, roll into a ball then spread it out. Put the filling in the middle, fold it up then steam. There was left-over, so Hui ling jiejie asked me to put them in boxes when they were steamed. Most of them had tears though, so all the filling was spilling out. Then lunch which was chicken rice.
Later, we went to Chinatown, with Hui lian jiejie as our tour guide. We saw the first Chinese temple and how unique it was, the famous coolie den, the old brothels(shh...), an Indian temple in Chinese territory with round chinese windows. We were told how Chinatown got its name, how rickshaw pullers lived, where people who were close to death stayed and where they were buried. We saw the last well in Chinatown, ladders from buildings in case of fires, where the nightsoil man collects human waste, a barber in a make-shift shelter. We were told where the busiest road in Singapore was, saw it. It was so cool, so cool.
When we got back, we bathed and had dinner(buffet). Then we sang songs, the old and the new. I loved Ah1 mei3 ah1 mei3, Wo3 men2 zhe4 yi4 ban1,... And I was practically shouting through Ai4 wo3 shen4 ni2 ge4 la1. Then supper.
The facilitators played the movie "Big Fat Liar" while we tried to sleep. The movie was kind of hilarious.
Next morning was breakfast then mass dance aka family dance. Then we had sharing, then feedback. Then, unfortunately, it was time to say good bye, but not without a three cheers for our dear jiejie men2. Huzzah!
I'll miss Hui ling jiejie, Hui lian jiejie and Yun qing jiejie. I wonder if Hui ling jiejie if remember my name, she called my name during cooking session. And my back was to her.
Love you jiejie <3!
