Church Camp '09
Day 3
Woke up at 6.45. Went to the Lobby, met some of the youths who could still wake up early enough, and went down to the Belmont Room which is very stuffy and you want to doze off just being in that room. Almost nodded off during devotion. -sheepish- Did devotional questions with Serene, Danielle and Jonas. Went for breakfast, tried their oatmeal porridge which the twins described as sludge. So isn't. But the one I first tried at Mrs Crawford's house (Scotland) was fantastic, nothing like that one.
Took the bus to the Resort. Had worship and sermon 4. Really love the song 'Be Thou My Vision'. Sat between Jonas and Danielle. Went for BS, which was getting more interesting, though still not. Had lunch on the ground floor, sat between Jonas and Dom. Chatted for a while, then we went back up for games.
One man blindfolded, another uses a particular sound to guide the blind to a Bible hidden away, rest distracts other teams without using teams' given sound. I guided Belle, and she found the Bible under the table. Then we played with balloons downstairs. Each person stands on a chair and without moving off it, pass the balloon to your team's captain who is holding a vanguard sheet. Lots of cheating, the best being tying your balloon to a slipper. Then we played with balls. Hans was wrapped with tape, sticky side up, but still able to move easily. Then we threw plastic balls at him. Quite hilarious.
Went back up for sermon 5. Sat beside Edmund who was sleeping throughout despite having a packet of M&Ms as a weapon against the Z monster (Zzzzz...). Luke fell asleep during prayer. Had BS again. Took group photos at the entrance of Resort. Kane had to go call YGrp 3 as they were doing BS on the ground floor. Lobby's on the 4th, Main Hall on the 2nd. The adults kope our bus and the youths were supposed to go back first, but no we had to wait long long for bus to come back and pick us. Watched Danielle and Serene play Vampire and "Batman Superman..." and 海带. Haha makes me wonder what they actually do in their room. Bus finally came, sat next to Tim's heavy bag because Jonas wanted a chair where the leg rest worked properly.
Went to change, then met at the pool. Started raining so we went to my room to play Werewolf.
When they left, we got ready for Bollywood night. Helped Jonas with her sari, while splitting our bangles between the two of us. Jonas broke a few of her's on the day we bought them, I crushed a few in my bag. Went to the Sagar restaurant. Ended up sitting on this net thing with Dom, Japheth and Jonas. Ben.K was said to be fuming mad for some reason. Food was better than usual meals, and we koped a lot of the children's fries and heart-shaped chicken nuggets. Danielle was watching from above and Daniel took pics.
Some youths left early to play volleyball, like Serene, Belle, Karina, Eccky, Japh, Ivan. Adeline couldn't play due to her really nice costume, and I joined when Ivan stepped out. Oh, Serene really wore a bathrobe over her shorts. Some of us went to play Werewolf in my room, and I joined later. Had to run back down to get my bangles.
Eccky and Japh joined us, Tabi had changed out of her costume. Serene finally came to get back her stuff and joined us. May I say, Serene was the scariest player I've ever seen. I was game master, by the way. Daniel, Danielle, Kane and Hanxiang joined us to watch. Daniel took over Japh when he had to leave for a short while. When the game ended, we moved to Hanxiang, Kane and Daniel's suite. They played Texas Hold'em, Poker. The rest of us just chatted, watch spetacular performances of people jumping on beds like Kane and Dom's absolute flat jump. We watched Tim's skydiving videos. Then six of us took turns to play Bridge when the others left. Finally went to sleep at 3.30am.
Day 4
Struggled to wake up at 6.45. I went down first, Jonas came down later. Devotion was good. There were Bible verses regarding each part of prayer for us to reflect on and pray, so it was more practical and personal. Did it with Dom, Adeline and Germaine. Ben was sleeping in. Had breakfast, finally had the cereal. Rushed to check-out and go to Theatrette. Sat there for long time. Thanks so much, Tabitha. Remembered that we left our passports in the safe in our room, ran back up to get them. Had sermon 6, sat between Hanxiang and Jonas. Jonas and Janice represented Youths for Sharing. I decided to go back by coach upon knowing that my parents were heading for Malacca before going back and that there was space in the coach. Managed to get myself in with the youths. Had last lunch. Went up the bus, sat at the back with Brenda, Ben.L, Tim and Jonas. Helped to hold the drum since my luggage was in my dad's car. Tim and Jonas had loads of fun drumming on the sleeping twins heads and singing. Ben.K's head was off his head rest so he was especially bullied by Tim. Me? I went deaf. Fell asleep when all went quiet. Woke up. After a while, we passed through Malaysian and Singaporean Immigration. Back in Singapore, Brenda and Jonas were like, "Taxi! HDB! Woah! MRT! Civilization!". Then Ben started asking me why didn't I go for IP or NUS High since my PSLE score is just 1 point below his. Reached back at church at 6+. Went back by MRT with Meiryl, Tim, Jonas and my bro of course. Tim went off first at Bishan since we had to go buy dinner and I needed to get Birthday stuff. Lucky him had dinner waiting for him back home. Back home at 7, parents came back at 9+. Good choice, no?
Miss camp now, being with God's people, brothers and sisters all day long.
