Guides Camp '09
Oh, did I mention that this year's camp theme is Camelot?
And the Church Camp's theme was Grounded in Godliness. Anyway,
Day 2
Super cramped up at night. Woke up to do Colours, Aline, Priscilla and I. Way too early. But it was drizzling so we couldn't do it. Fall in in Forum. We went to change while the rest started PT. Reached back at Forum just as they finished the runs. Had breakfast at canteen.
Did Inspection. Got scolded after that. Rushed to get food for lunch. Ran back just in time. We got grapes, cheese, bread, cabbage, sausages, tomatoes and a yellow watermelon! Aline, Priscilla, Monique and I got the fire going. Did Ember cooking, but many were using fire to cook. Thing is, we were the fastest to cook finish since we only needed to cook the precooked sausages. And we had cabbage and tomatoes in buns, and all the seniors were staring at our hamburgers and burnt sausages with cheese stuck to the aluminium foil. And it was gooooood.
Then we cleared up. And played the Amazing Race. Can't remember much. Then we cooked Maggi Mee which wasn't very nice, together with the mixed veges and crab sticks. But boy was it good. Seriously. Camp food always taste the best. Maybe its ash seasoning. XP Cleared up, discussed patrol item and got ready for night trail. Esther left.
Which was so not scary. In fact the sec4s were really cute, especially Beatrice and Denise. 'You've seen her, haven't you?' I had to whisper into Carol's ear. At least, I think it was Carol. "Little dolly went to school, running on her two feet, she was taken from her mistress, never to be found again.' We had to learn that from Denise at the Gym toilet, to the tune of Barney theme song. Sorry Percival, but its my fault we went to the wrong place. Had to memorise a rhyme for Beatrice, get shouted at by Kristin and Jasmine, get clinged on by Jiahua and Sandra. Monique found the red hand yay! The finale was good, done by Joanna with her long wispy hair. The doll looked quite freaky.
Had supper and slept in the MPR1.
Day 3
Woke up freezing. Did Colours and PT. Had breakfast. Did Inspection. Pure fantastic. One side of a slipper taken, dirty clothes taken, bag taken. My sandals were taken. Did Manito writing and discussed for Patrol item. Got ready for Hike. We got Jiahua and Huiting.
Went for Hike. Ford Factory, HCI, Bougainvillea Garden, Alexandra Road's food court, Raffles Town Club, find a building, Chelsea Garden condo, YMCA, Newton circus.... We weren't hungry after all the cakes and biscuits provided so we each had a large drink from Macs on the way back. Had 3 more stations to the end but we were late. Reached back at 5. Aline had left. Bathed at last for first time in 2 days. Had dinner.
Campfire! Internal one, specially by sec4s. The comeback of Ah Huat and Umbrella Girl! Ah Huat (Kaiying) got bullied by Rachael and Sarah Tan, got a make-over by Rachel Sim who has awesome acting, broke Umbrella Girl's (Jiahua) heart. "Choose, me or her!" "Come girls, lets go to my place." "Woohoo!" Performed our patrol items. Karyee's a really cute Holy Grail.
Did Manito. No one came to claim me, because Cherida had left. She came back on Day 4 though. Anyway, Jinny had a nose bleed. Then we went for Guides Own. And got scolded. Nienping had to apologise. Xinhoon's message was just what I needed, an affirmation. I cried. Thank you, Lord. Sarah Ong wrote to me, surprise. VL drew a pretty pic, thanks! Had supper and slept in our tent.
