The Week So Far (as of 6/12/12)
MONDAY: A's ended! on a bad note
And what did i do? I went to the library to read a book. because manda and val were meeting tk friends and eunice, arun and may went home, since it was raining horribly. not complaining, it was just that i would be alone if i went home too. :( could have watched a movie, but after buying a present i could barely buy dinner. :( and then, the books i wanted to read were either on loan, or not on their shelves. and when i finally found a book to read and was settling into it, my dad called to say that they left his boots and uke behind so i had to run back to the parking lot to check. checked all the surrounding blocks, still no go. and then to make it worse, i had to get up at 0415 to find the newspaper delivery guy to ask him if he had seen the stuff. bad day.
TUESDAY: Sian all the way.
Found the guy, he directed us to this auntie who comes down at 0445 to get her papers, who directed us to the cleaner auntie. woke up at 7 but cmi, so wole up at 9. i coulsnt find her, so i asked the malay uncle cleaner, he said sje was at the other block. i found her, but she didnt take it, someone took it after she left, maybe to sell it. and since we didnt know what tine it was taken, the wild goose chase ended. on a bright note, i met cheryl to borrow zhaoyi's books. finished the first of three books on that day itself.
WEDNESDAY: Class chalet night
we met at 4, but we missed the shuttle so we waited another hour. both seah's and the four of us were there. and it was raining, the light kind that lasts for hours. we took a bus from the reception office to the chalet, but we missed the stop so we still had to walk. when we finally reached, we couldnt bbq cos we were waiting for the aluminium foil to line the pit, so it wouldnt be wet. in the end we didnt use it. but, while waiting, seah's group plus eunice, manda, val and i played werewolf! they loved it. :) jamie has this natural wolf-dar, i'm telling you. she killed a wolf on her own as a witch, she won the first time she was a wolf, and other games i cant rmb. then julia, afshin, arun and may arrived with the Al foil, so they and the other guys did it. after a while, julia, arun, eunice and i took over the cooking. that was some good bonding time. :) just relax and enjoy the company of each other. after clearing up, may, manda, val and eunice looked at magazines. i couldnt take it so i went outside. then while the indians and jules and eunice watched simpsons, manda, may, val and i played mahjong. i am not destined to be a taitai. then our group played werewolf until 4am. jules is good at being a werewolf, we won that game. around 3, yiling, carrie, jamie and weisong came back from clubbing, ladies' night. and around 12, darren, teckhui, eleanor and teck's friend matthew went cycling, towards ecp.
THURSDAY: Break camp early!
At 4am, we had enough. we called for macs delivery. we had this mass food sharing session, like may ate 1 pancake and i ate the other 2, plus a bit of val's big breakfast. small stomachs, those two. i had gastric on the other hand. like normal. after that, we played taboo. quite funny, watching people get flustered at finding a card they can do. by then it was 630, so may, eunice, val, manda, arun and i went to the changi boardwalk to catch the sunrise. but we were on the wrong side of the island, so we just took polaroids against the brightening sky. we took turns to take the pic, then we each kept the polaroid we took. The sky in the background turned out beautifully well, with various shades of bluish-purple. :) Then we headed back to the chalet. While playing more taboo, the cyclists came back. Soon after, Val, May and I went to sleep, from 830 to 1230. We woke up to find that Julia had left, and Nor, Matthew, Darren and Teck were playing Mahjong. Around 1, Amanda left with the indians and May left with Eunice. So the rest of us (except the mahjong players) bbqued the rest of the food. So my record of bbq-ing every chalet is still unbroken. Seah, Val, Carrier, Jamie, Weisong, and Matthew came over his game. It was good bonding time. :) After that, we hid in the living room to pass time. Seah, Val and Weisong used Youtube to have a "KTV" session, Jamie, Carrie and I sat around the square table, Teck taught Nor guitar and Darren listened to them while sitting in the door frame. At around 4, all of us left and took 29 together. Weisong and Matthew rode their bikes home.
Val and I alighted the same stop as Nor, Teck and Darren to go to the airport. We went to T2 (my mistake that all budget flights were there), then to T1. Neither of us were familiar with T1. Neither of us knew which flight Ethel was on, only the airline. Asking too much would reveal our surprise, you see. Luckily, the two possible flights were on two neighbouring belts, so we just stood outside and kept a lookout. Val kept an eye on the people getting their luggage, while I watched the people exiting through the doors. It was crazy, trying to stay alert and standing when you only have 4 hours of sleep. Val kept saying how dramatic it would be, if we left right before she appeared. And so we waited. And waited. and waited and waited and waited. For more than one hour. And many false alarms. And finally. I mean, FINALLYYYYY. At first Val only gave her a glance, because from far, the bag she was carrying seemed pink. (It's actually red haha) It seemed like one of the baggages was missing so we waited some more. And tried to hide in the crowd. Hahaha the plan was that we would hide, and then when she had passed, we'll tap her from behind. In reality, when she came out after her sis and dad, we couldn't help staring at her. HAHA. Of course, she noticed the two pairs of eyes staring widely at her, and Val waved with two fingers at her. Haha. Ethel hugged me, and fist-bumped with Vally. We talked. A little. :) And greeted her parents too. But it seems she had two friends who were fetching her too, only not by surprise. They were dressed so respectably, while Val and I were in shirts and shorts. Even worse, I was in MJ PE shirt haha. Haha her parents invited us along for dinner at the staff canteen, and we accepted. Only, when we reached the canteen, we felt kinda shy and thick-skinned so we excused ourselves. Ethel helped by saying that we had somewhere to go. Haha such a transparent excuse. So Val and I ate at T2's Wang Cafe, and we had a good long chat. Around 9, we left.
