Lessons from Youth Camp
It's only 9pm but I really really want to CRASH ON MY BED. I'm clearly getting old, my stamina for staying up late has waned. We YAs really had it hard, staying up late for meetings after meetings, chatting about ministry plans with one who has been there before (Danielle), sewing the camp banner until 5am.
But. Youth camp has given me so much to think about.
For one, being stuck with the youths for 4 days 3 nights forces you to be in close proximity with them. I've kept my distance for the past year, because it drains me. But being with them makes me love them as a friend, makes me want to care for them in a deeper manner for some especially. They are all beautiful creations of God.
Second, it has taught me more about leadership. During Comm debrief, I told Rei Hrn that he must learn to delegate, but the YAs laughed and said, "That's so ironic coming from Becky!!" Unfortunately, it seems my Logs Head predecessor had the same problems as me, a lack of manpower. It also seems that he works in the same manner as me. :P But being uninvolved in the running of camp, it made me step back and learn to manage things from that viewpoint. It helped me to see solutions to leadership problems.
Alright, one more year of service, LETSGO.
And, 4 days to Christmas.
