End of Week 12

and things are quite everywhere. MJC Chrystal, school, SEnT, Science, church, family, friends, PSG. Blegh. We had a combined Engin-Science CG on Tues on Rest, but I feel like I'm working 7 days a week, including Sundays. This is bad.

Firstly. VERY THANKFUL GOD for the approval from OSA. Praying that this is according to what God is desiring for SEnT and VCF. God is clearly watching over VCF.
As much as I sometimes have difficulty grasping at what they mean during meetings, the SEnT comm has become so precious to me. Very precious. Science and Arts CAN communicate, after all. It just takes effort on both sides to adjust our language. And seeing all of us come together as a team, it is really really beautiful. Thursday's meeting saw a turn-out of 7 members, including Leng our SW. They are my joy. They show me the world through their lenses. Especially Huldah jie.
It is easy to focus on the admin work and forget why I joined SEnT: to learn more about who God is through these new lenses. It is easy to forget why we seek to engage others: because God loves them too. Our cry is to break our heart for what breaks yours. We are disciples.

On Thurs and Fri, circumstances were such that Sab, Tong, Leng and I got to hear how the Science Comm is doing. Reminds me of how my Youth Comm slowly fell too, though under different circumstances. If the core of ministry is what it means to be a Christian, then... that answer should govern how we interact with each other, what programs we have, what decisions we make, what goals we strive for. How complicated and elaborate should our programs be? I don't know manz.
I also asked Leng about how distinct the facs are, and she told me that only NUS VCF is big enough to split by faculty, possibly even split by major! So... how does that balance out with unity? Perhaps we should only play by distinction when it comes to discipleship (strictly inward stuff), but make use of the wide variety when it comes to reaching out (e.g. outreach, social issues, things bigger than ourselves basically). Because when we reach out (e.g. IFG's on my mind) it's important to present our identities as ONE. I haven't found that word yet.
I guess my mind simplifies things a lot. Ministry is definitely more complicated than I make it out to be.

Yesterday and today, Asaph, Selly and I went for the Reformation conference. I guess the doctrines weren't new so it was quite light. Haha I think Asaph's definition of heavy is the significance of the doctrine, whereas my definition of heavy is the number of verses quoted from the Bible. Anyways. It was on the topic of Justification and its relationship with Sanctification. If Justification means that our pride has been broken... Is Justification a process? Yet doctrine says it's an instantaneous thing. To what extent has my pride been broken? I certainly acknowledge than only Jesus' blood saves. But what about pride in the everyday things?

Uni students. We walk this journey of studying, grappling with the purpose of life, the world's ideologies, and coming to the first step of spiritual maturity, together. Being part of the community is so powerful. Frees you from bearing your troubles alone, from walking alone. Gives strength and encouragement for the journey (though God should be our main source of inspiration).
