Yes God, I hear You but it will be hard.
It's always hard to break the status quo. Grant me courage to tread upon this path, a strong will to obey You, and may You grant grace as I walk, that the path I tread will be soft.
Uncle Billy came, and I asked him about FCS Mongolia. I received some heartfelt hardfelt advice on how to engage my family.
- If my parents wouldn't take the initiative, I can take the initiative
- Let them be my prayer warriors
- Keep them in the loop on planning for the Mongolia trip, not just through the newsletter
- Notify them when I'm on the bus home from GBG
I admit, seeing my dad's heart-hardened look was... expected. But it's not my place to second-guess how my parents will respond, I know I'm only supposed to follow in obedience. My heart is hard too, please soften my heart and harden my will. Simultaneous unveiling of hidden grudges and heartaches and repairing of broken places. A child can be involved in the discipling of her parents too, as co-disciples under Christ our Lord. He is Lord regardless of our submission to Him.
Just remember to honour and respect them too, future Becks.
We'll rejoice and praise God together when we all reach full maturity in Christ.
